New management models for cultural organizations

Adeste+ is in Lisbon, at Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, in a partner meeting this week. This is an internal project meeting to evaluate the status of the project in each country and to prepare next Summer School in Rijeka (Croatia).

The artistic partners are reporting these days how they are designing their prototypes in the context of Audience Centred Experience Design Blueprint Initiative in each country. Artistic partners such as the Teatro Stabile di Torino (IT), Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (PT), Harinera (ES), Croatia National Theater I Zajc (HR), Mercury Theater (UK), Norrebro Theater (DK) have been working previously with the knowledge partners (Fitzcarraldo Foundation (IT), The Audience Agency (UK), Center for Arts and Interculture (DK), University of Deusto (ES), Mapa Das Ideias (PT) Melting Pro (IT), Kultura Nova Foundation (HR ).

This blueprint is based on the design thinking and Human centred approach, based more on understanding first audiences needs and empathizing with them rather than thinking about first what we want to offer them. The idea is that instead of asking ourselves why aren’t young people coming to out theatre is more about Why do we want young people? What do we have to offer? What are their needs and desires? They key word is creativity, to shift and empathise more with the user and be more creative with our approach.

As a result, in ADESTE+ we are working with multidisciplinary teams inside the every organisation, to start from the user’s needs and test the Double Diamond Approach of design thinking.
