15 July sees the start of the Art and Public Space initiative by the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity and the Fondazione Scuola dei beni e delle attività culturali on the theme of art in public space in Italy from the post-war period to today.
Five working groups will discuss the most topical issues in the field of contemporary art in public spaces, both nationally and internationally. Each group is made up of experts from different fields.
The issues addressed will be: spaces and territories; knowledge and promotion; policies and practices; questions of law; questions of conservation.
Maura Romano and Federica Pesce will bring to the “knowledge and promotion” group the experience of Melting Pro and will discuss with colleagues some tools for knowledge and narration of public art works – mapping, censuses, documentation and digital restitution.
The five study groups will identify the topics that will make up the programme of the Study Days scheduled for early 2022.
