Strengthening the link between cultural institutions and local communities is one of the main goals many organisations strive for, especially in times of pandemic.
Our project “Come un Libro – Formazione e animazione per le biblioteche della rete Octavia” (Like a book – training and animation for the libraries of the Octavia network), carried out in collaboration with Ideazione srl and Turismo in Langa, follows this orientation.
The project has so far involved 17 municipalities, 25 operators and 13 libraries of the Octavia network.
Melting Pro has accompanied professionals and organisations in a training course which, through the use of methodologies linked to design thinking, has enabled them to design creative solutions to complex problems. We worked on identifying new targets to be reached through events to be held during the summer.
Design Thinking is based on “putting oneself in the shoes” of the target to be reached” explains Ludovica De Angelis. “This approach allows library operators to propose activities based on the real needs of the user and, therefore, to achieve excellent results. The course, held online, was structured in such a way as to allow maximum involvement of the participants. We are gratified by the result. We have seen a lot of participation from the operators of the libraries in the Octavia network”.
Now the second phase of the project is underway, with further support for the library operators from the event managers and event planners of Turismo in Langa. The mission: to organise a series of events designed especially for families.
