After the pandemic freeze, we resume our visits to independent festivals together with the other partners of the SMA! Small Festival Accelerator.
Our aim is to define a business model and guidelines for music festivals in rural or remote areas.
From 1 to 3 July, our correspondents Federica Taeko and Silvia will attend the first FEEL D LOVE stage of the D festival, organised by Password Production (Skopje) in Dorjan, Macedonia, to observe the festival’s community engagement activities and interview staff, volunteers and the audience.
Born in 2011 from the idea of organising a unique and diverse outdoor music event, the D Festival is a young event with local and international artists.
Particularly relevant is the work done on community engagement, based on programming co-curated by the audiences themselves. Over time, the organisers have distinguished themselves by reflecting on issues such as the value of volunteers involved in the project and environmental sustainability.
The organisation also provides an online virtual tour of the festival space, with a 360° view and freely accessible for free.
