On November 10th at the ENCATC DIGITAL CONGRESS “Cultural management and policy in a post-digital world – navigating uncertainty” Melting Pro will present the module SOFT SKILLS, tested last year at the Master in Management of Artistic and Cultural Resources of IULM University (Rome).

SOFT SKILLS is a workshop designed to integrate university courses in cultural management with a set of skills that our long-term international research revealed to be crucial in terms of employability.

Between January and February 2020, the workshop was tested as a 16 hours training module, part of the Master in Management of Artistic and Cultural Resources of IULM, in Rome.

It was a class of 34 students from different faculties – Humanities, Arts, Political Sciences, Communication from all over Italy.

The module is inspired by the Synapse methodology of Goldsmiths University in London, which uses visual mapping tools and design thinking tools.

Students are encouraged to positively analyze their skills and inclinations, to listen to others by creating a space of continuous discussion and open feedback. It raises self-confidence, responsibility and, last but not least, to be able to recognize and seize opportunities when they arrive.

The learning outcomes:

  • employ creative tools to respond to change
  • demonstrate their relational, communication, listening and group work skills in a team context
  • illustrate their values, their ambitions in presenting their professional story
