Let’s experiment again the creative regeneration format SPACE. This time we are in Monticelli, a suburban neighborhood of Ascoli Piceno, together with Associazione Marchigiana Attività Teatrali (AMAT) and Officine Brandimarte, as part of the project “R3-Resilience, Reuse and Reactivation of urban capital” promoted by Comune di Ascoli Piceno e ISTAO.

30 artists aged between 18 and 35, selected through a public call, created site-specific works to tell the peculiarities of the Monticelli neighborhood through the filter of creativity and through the relationship with the urban space and with the inhabitants of the neighborhood.
The challenge was met in the best way: the works scattered in the open air in the streets, squares and gardens of Monticelli gave back to the inhabitants the image of a happy suburb because airy, green, with a a strong identity and eager for redemption. At the same time they bring out the traits of a social complexity beyond any stigma or prejudice, interpreting signs and meanings stratified over time in the life stories of those who were born or live in the neighborhood, helping to outline its peculiar characteristics and the transformations underway.

Let’s relive together the emotions of the traveling exhibition which took place on 20 July 2023 in Monticelli thanks to this video made by Andrea Giancarli, who tells us about the process of transformation of the territory. Watch the video here.
