The European project Up Skilling cultural managers: matching skills needs by improving vocational training is a two years’ Leonardo learning partnerships project funded with the support of the European Commission through the Leonardo Italian LLP National Agency.

The overall objective of the project is to improve and update the skills and competencies of cultural managers by better matching the training with the labour market needs to improve the quality of the VET offer.

The project will:

– identify and assess the skills and key competencies in the field of arts and culture management and exchange of best practices;

– exchange on validation and learning processes;

– propose, adopt and develop series of training quality indicators;

– exchange, develop and jointly test innovative vocational training methodologies.

On the basis of these results, the partners will collaborate in designing a set of VET modules to be shared and introduced in the curriculum of the institutions and promoted to different stakeholders, also in sectors other than the cultural and creative industries.

The partnership is composed by both VET providers and cultural organisations: MeP, project leader, Fondazione Pastificio Cerere (IT), Anthropolis (HU), Creative & Cultural Skills (UK), Fundación Iberoamericana de las Industrias Culturales y Creativas (ES) e il Danish Centre for Arts and Interculture (DK).

MeP will coordinates the promoting already tested innovative training methodologies based on design thinking, visual mapping, mentoring and digital storytelling, to actively engage audiences in the learning process.
