Melting Pro is partner of the project  GIRA. GIovani storytelleR urbAni (Shoot. Young Urban Storytellers), funded by the Union of Italian Provinces (UPI) and the National Youth Agency.

The project is developed in the province of Ascoli Piceno.

Overall objective of the project is to foster social innovation and stimulate active and conscious participation of young people in their own territory and their community (active citizenship) through the strategic use of new technologies and technology of digital storytelling.

GIRA foresees the creation of digital stories for the promotion of the cultural, historic and human resources of territory through the narration.

The young urban storyteller will tell their own experiences and their vision of urban regeneration through their creativity in order to reach policy makers and citizens and give practical perspectives and solutions to be implemented in the Ascoli Piceno province .

The project is divided into the following phases :

– realization of training workshops on the topic of digital storytelling for local development , aimed at young cultural workers ;

– production of digital stories that tell the territory. The audio-visual products will be participating in a social networks contest and the stories rated as the most innovative will be awarded and used by the partnership to promote the territory;

– realization of ” StoryAPp ” , an Application that will allow visitors to enjoy the stories of digital environments smartphones and tablets;

– realization of a scientific illustrated paper publication on the topic of digital storytelling for the enhancement for the promotion of the territories .

The project is implemented by the Province of Ascoli Piceno ( leader) in partnership with the City of Ascoli Piceno , Melting Pro . Laboratory for the culture , the University Consortium Piceno , the Ass . Size Ascoli under the program “Be @ ctive . Innovative measures developed by young people and for young people”.
