Since January Melting Pro has been supporting the Cineteca di Bologna on the evaluation of the impact of the Film Literacy activities carried out in the European Project ABCinema Plus. The project aims at developing young audiences to become the next generation of film-goers through film literacy activities. Co-financed for the second year by the Creative Europe MEDIA Programme, the project is promoted by a consortium Film archives in collaboration with a film literacy association and ACE – Association des Cinémathèques Européennes.
Within the project, Melting Pro supports the coordination of the project to identify, share and re-adapt useful methodologies and tools to evaluate the effectiveness of the activities carried out by partners with children (3-6 years old) and young people from 16 -25 years old.
The objective is to define a set of standard and procedures validated at European level to understand and evaluate the level of success and impact of film literacy activities promoted by the Film archives in partnership with schools and other youth organisations.
By taking part in Frankfurt (April 2016) and in Bologna during the Festival del Cinema Ritrovato (June- July 2016) Melting Pro staff has been helping the ABCinema PLUS partnership in the process of data collection, analysis and revision of a shared strategic vision in order to maximise the impact.
At the end of the project a report will be published describing the key findings in terms of ABCinema PLUS impact.
